The town you think you know........loves holiday Costumes, Carolers, Hot Chocolate, Candy Canes, and Santa!
Be a part of Lancaster’s first costumed 5k Fun Run & Walk with the 2012 Reindeer Run, brought to you by Lancaster Alive.

Grab your best Santa hat and beard, elf outfit, reindeer antlers, or whatever costume the
holiday spirit inspires you to wear and run, trot, prance, or walk your way along the 5k
course. This self-timed 5k will have mileage markers along the way for those wishing to
participate at a lesser distance. Along the course, runners will be treated to Christmas
carolers and other holiday festivities. Upon completion of the race, participants will be
treated to hot chocolate and candy canes as well as pictures with Santa! Awards will be
given to those with the best costumes, including: the “Best Costume”, the “Best Group
Costume,” and the “That Person has to be Cold” award, among others.
Participants should plan to bring a toy to the race which will be donated to Maywood
Mission to give to families in need for the holidays. The course is flat and suitable for runners of all ages and skill level. Children 12 and under accompanied by a registered adult are free, however no shirt will be provided. Children 12 and over accompanying a registered adult must pay fee and register.

Like all things promoted by Lancaster Alive, the focus of this race is FUN while helping the
community. For this reason, chip timing will not be provided and all awards will revolve
around the participants’ costumes. For those wishing to race competitively, we still
welcome you to participate and a large clock will be provided for you to check your time.
Following the race, don’t forget to stop in on Destination Downtown Lancaster’s Winter
Carnival across Main Street on North Broad!

Waiver and Release
I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I know that although police protection will be provided (at major intersections), there will be traffic on the course route. I assume the risk running in this race for myself and any minor accompanying me. In accepting my entry fee, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors,administrators or anyone that might claim on myself, covenant not to sue, and waive release and discharge all organizations associated with the race.
